The word fashion is generally defined as the characteristic feature, manner, or mode in which an artistic work is presented.  This particular album features art song especially selected, recorded, and presented to represent and honor the fashion of the song recital: carefully selected composers, musical styles, and languages that provide a pleasing arc of sound and emotion.   The recital fashion is very much a collaboration between soloist and pianist, and in that sense I am indebted to Scott Watkins, my fabulous collaborative artist who joined with me in striving to make an album as close to live conditions as possible. I would like to thank Michael Olson for minimal editing as sound engineer. His sound design guided this project and assured its successful completion.  I hope you enjoy the spontaneity and transparency of this recording as much as we do. This project and all the recital performances that led to it would not have been realized without the constant, never-ending support of my husband, Jim.  Thank you for always wanting to hear me sing.  These songs are for you.
